Scanmaster Code 66 question
I have a 93 Z28 with a 95 LT1 engine. I removed the AC about 3 years ago and had the PCM programed to reflect the change by PCM4Less.
Recently I started to receive a Code 66 (A/C refrigerant pressure sensor circuit (open or shorted)), is there anything that I can do to get this code to go away, I know its nothing major, just an annoyonce. My second question, are the fans from a 93 compatible with a 95 engine. I have noticed recently that they stay on all the time. The car is not running hot and infact runs great. Could this be tied to the Code 66 I am receiving?? Thanks in advance:bow: |
I had that same code.. i had some ac wires sliced up and they were touching each other... Taped it up good again and it went away.. Maybe you have some ac wires laying around touching..

Thats what I call service
Thanks for the quick response. I do have an open connection, however I have checked the wiring and nothing is cut or broken, just an open connection. How would you go about closing that off?
Again, thank you for the response:bow: |
The 93-early 94's used a system of two relays to turn the fans on one at a time. The late 94 and newer models used a system of 3 relays to operate both fans at low and high speeds.

Thanks Injuneer! Through the years ( you may not remember me) you've been a great help, along with other members of the forum.
Just wanted to say Thanks. So I guess my couse of action should be to upgrade to the correct fans :) Thanks agian! |
Look at the LT1 wiring diagrams on Shoebox's site. They show both the 2-relay and the 3-relay setups.
