And i read somewhere that the drive wouldnt effect the oil pressure, it simply rotates the pump shaft, the pump is either turning or its not. so any truth in this?

Back down...you are using new head gaskets right? You have to use rtv where the intake manifold meets the block, there's no gasket there, and continue the bead up about an inch onto the heads. This is a common leaking spot. Be carefull not to damage the oil sensor when putting the manifold back on, and as long as you remembered the vacuum configuration correctly, you should be good.

Do you really believe he didn't have a problem with oil pressure just 2 days before you bought it. I got some property I think you would be interested in. Give us a break.

Second. If you have noise due to lack of lubrication. Forget about ***** footing around. It's already shot. End of story.

as stated before the pressure was fine when i bought it, the car had NOT ONE oil pressure issue until he switched the oil to synthetics, the gauge read 20psi at idle and 40psi at 5800. its a stock bottom end with 85k on it. i havnt tore it down, n im not gunna declare it shot without verification. and its funny how you are the only one saying its shot hmm...

I wouldn't be able to make it in the afternoon cause I'll be at work, but maybe I could swing by on Sat afternoon after you have it all apart to take a look at it and help you put it back together...

Well if it happened over the weekend I'd come stand around and laugh while every one busts their knuckles.

There were threads about the oil pump drive problem. The piece that holds the drive in place is made out of plastic of some sorts and has been breaking under certain circumstances. If the pump shaft retainer was to break and the pumpshaft were to be pushed up it just might disengage from the pump. That would cause no oil pressure. Cam turns pump shaft turns oil pump.
