rwhp/tq guess's?

Mods on car as of now:

160 Thermostat
SLP Loudmouth Catback
OBD1 Conversion

Next week...
XE 227/233 Cam
Timing Chain
Lifters
1.6rr
Valve Springs
Hardened Pushrods
Tune from Ion @ MadZ28.com

Long tubes will be coming in time, but I needed to change my lifters, so I figured might as well change the valvetrain while i'm in there.

Anyway, what do you think the power at the wheels will be?

That much power without Long Tubes? Just a cam basically? You really think so?

Re: rwhp/tq guess's?

Without the LT headers, I'll say 315rwhp or so...With them, 345ish to the wheels IMO...

But who really knows, so only one way to find out...

Re: rwhp/tq guess's?

No LTs - 300
With Lts - 315-320

A good tune will help tremendously.

I'd say he's pretty close. You might if you are real lucky break 350 but i doubt it.

No LTs, 305-315, with LTs 325-340.

Re: rwhp/tq guess's?

I know with lt's I should have about 360 because thats where they usually end up I was told... Doesn't the Hotcam give the LT1 like 300rwhp?

This cam has a much bigger lift and a longer duration plus its supposed to mesh great with the stock heads I heard. Am I wrong on this?

Man oh man I have to get this thing dynoed asap then. I am getting all sorts of guestimates... wow.

Hopefully in a few weeks or so, I have to get the cash for the dyno and the fuel involved... haha

Re: rwhp/tq guess's?

at LEAST 345rwhp and comparable torque with that cam on stock heads and LT's. you can see ~360 with some GOOD tuning!

How many people have dyno'd 360 with that cam on stock heads? I'd contemplate switching if I didnt lose but 5 or so hp. my cam is a bit bigger than that, and I did nearly 360 with LTs and a Madz28 tune. As for a guess, without headers, I think it will choke that motor down too much I'm gonna say 310. With headers, I'll say 340. I've seen anywhere from 310 - 350 with a hotcam, its kind of hit or miss. Most are in the 330 range. FWIW, I made 300 with just a CAI and LTs.

Re: rwhp/tq guess's?

i havent seen any 360's yet, so maybe by the time i get this cam in ill be one of the first Ill spend a full day at the dyno getting a tune and bring lots of ice for the intake. Keep runnin that bitch till it hits 360
