RWHP estimate

ok i got all this done to the car.

-LT headers
-SLP loudmouth I exhaust(replace resonator with a bullet resonator)
-CAI
-TH350 w/3500 stall(thinking of going back to t56)
-52mm BBK TB
-LE1 Heads(with all top of the line components)
-LE spec'd 232/240 .578/.574 110 LSa cam
-160 t-stat
-lt4 HD timing chain and gears
-All MSD electrical

how much would i have with that. and i was thinking about making it a 355 lt1 with mahle powerpak pistons and scat i-beams. how much would i be look at if i did the 355 job.

Re: RWHP estimate

My guess (from this thread of yours: https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=804874) remains the same.

Simply changing the piston bore size would yield a trivial amount of HP gain...probably immeasurable. If the rotating assembly was lightweight you could gain SOME HP in the upper RPMs, but not much.

Re: RWHP estimate

your biggest gain from the bore would be from unshrouding the valves from the cyl wall by .015. (an issue in all wedge style heads). a .030 over bigger bore on the same heads usually picks up the flow a few % and thats where you will see the gain. typically on a 350 to a 355 you are looking at like 5hp (estimated) in that power range realistically.

Re: RWHP estimate

I would say 325-335whp, 350/360hp if you still had the T56. That is about 100 over stock.

Cam/ heads 80

Bolt on parts 30

Stock 240

350hp then the tranny will eat up 5% more than a M6, if it sounds better about 400 crank.

Stock LS1 puts down 290-310 LS6 goes around 350 to the wheels So I wouldn't hang my head, your damn near a ZO6 with decent budget heads, big cam and bolt ons. I would say with that stall and a good launch the Z06 would have a tough time with you.

Re: RWHP estimate

Try and keep the compression up with that big of cam and you should be fine despite the th350 sucking up alot of power. Id think 360-375rwhp area if everything is matched and tune is inline.

They ain't that bad, the converter is where you can lose out on dyno numbers. Autos shine at the track. I'd say 375-395rwhp with good tuning, everything being right, and if the converter isn't a Lindsay Lohan edition.

Re: RWHP estimate

Are you chasing a RWHP number or want to be fast at the track? Stick will make it easier to get you the RWHP you want, TH350 will be better for most at the track.

Don't chase a magical number if you want something different from a setup. Area under the curve vs peak numbers means something to some people.

Find what you want, and then go after that.

Re: RWHP estimate

IMO "messing around on the streets"sounds like something that a teenager wants to do..I may be over-reacting but..never mind,I will keep what i really want to say to myself..

Re: RWHP estimate

well let me explain what i was trying to say. im in the marine corps and if anyone knows what a military base parking lot or what the town looks like you see alot of people with mustangs. you will see no joke like 4 mustangs in each parking lot of the base im stationed at. and they all think there fast because its a "mustang". so i just want to mess around with the mustangs on the street
