running WOT with LT's!??!?!?
running WOT with LT's!??!?!?
ok jst instralled my hooker LT's and right now it has no Y pipe, and was wondering if i can run it WOT without floating a valve (says my brother and his friends) or without running it over 2 grand?
please let me knwo ASAP want to check out my new ****....
also will i feel more power open headers? or more power with y pipe and exhaust on?

Lol, float the valves ???
Drive it hard all you want. Drive it until your 90 years old.
Open headers carry a bunch of old myths and wives tales. Don't believe any of them. The worst that will happen is the A/F mixture will be a bit off due to the O2's being so close to the end of the headers open air.
It's crazy loud though. I drove mine like that for a few days

WTF does a full exhaust or not have to do with floating a valve?
open headers will ultimately make more power, but that doesn't mean you'll necessarily feel it, or that it will be faster than your car with a full exhaust. See where this is going?(BTW i hated fluid dynamics in school, and i hate it now, but its the secret to success in this game)

The old wise-tale of open exhaust was mainly on stock manifolds and shorty headers. Basically you are full throttle in high rpms...you let of the gas to coast and it sucks in cold air and can heat-freeze the valve causing it to drop (break). But.....dont worry....I have done it many times with long tubes you will be fine. I have never really believed that old story. It could be true to a certain point though. What ya think??

I've never head of floating them with open headers, but the old guys around here talk of burning a valve. Kinda similar to what fast 93z said. Happens with no backpressure. Shouldn't have to worry about it. I think there is enough backpressure with as little as 6 inches of pipe on the exhaust port. You'd probably have to run and open HEAD to burn a valve. Boy its loud doing that tho. We did it to a CRX one time, BIG flames too.
On lt's? Not a problem, you can do anything you want if you've got lt's. With shortys it would be a bad idea. But its probably not a good thing to do for to long, its so incredibly loud that you can really go anywhere with open headers anyway
