Running Rich

OK, I know that fbodys run rich from the factory.....but my car seems to run extremely rich. Yes it's supercharged.....but still. I have lt1_edit and I have adjusted the fuel ratio's at WOT. It's not WOT that is the problem, the car just has a really "rich" smell to the exhaust just at idle. I get carbon deposits built up in the exhaust from just normal driving, and then the 1st time I go WOT it all shoots out in one big happy carbon cloud. After that, I can run WOT and get no carbon shooting out since it hasn't built up yet. So what can I do??? Can old O2 sensors cause my car to run rich? What are some other problems I should try to fix so I don't run rich with just normal driving? Thanks.

Old O2's will do it. Do you have any exhaust leaks?

Yes one, after the cat. Is there anything else I should look for? I'm going to replace the o2's soon. Thanks.

This doesn't help much, but mine does the same thing, but I can lay it on the HUGE overlap that my custom Joe O cam has on it...

You don't mention a cam, so I am guessing that you are stock EXCEPT for the SC. if this is the case, who did the programming and are they willing to work with you on "adjusting" the VE or MAF tables to "assist" in leaning....

::::WARNING::::

Lean conditions on SC's is a horrible thing...Just remember that you will be playing with fire....literally
