running hot after flush
running hot after flush
my car was not running hot before, but is running hot after firestone flushed it. all the hoses have been replaced, bypassed the heater core, t-stat has been replaced with a 160, it has a pcmforless chip that turns the fans on earlier (i can hear the fan working), it has an electric water pump (i can hear it working & a performance shop checked it out-its fine), took it to the chevy dealership to make sure all the air is out-they claim there is no air in the system, it has distilled water with purple ice.
it doesn't run hot on the interstate or at idle with the ac on max in 90 degree weather, only during stop & go situations (city driving).
this is driving me crazy, does anyone have any ideads? radiator? HELP!

Re: running hot after flush
what is the correct procedure for bleeding? i took it to the chevy dealer for this & they say that there is no air in the system. i don't think that has a blown head gasket either, because there is not any water in the oil & it hasn't lost any power. is there a writeup on the correct procedure for bleeding?
Re: running hot after flush
Squeeze one of your hoses when its hot and see if it is building pressure. If it doesnt build pressure the coolant will boil. My owners manual calls for GM sealer(prestone will do) whenever you change the coolant. Mine wouldn't build pressure till I put the sealer in.
