running cc306 with no O2 sensors-reasonable

I read a post by Buttercup saying that

"It's possible to run open loop and have no O2 sensors at all. To do this you need the proper equipment to reprogram the PCM. This is definitely not recommended and would only be used with things like gigantic cams."

I have a cc306 and I was wondering what is considered to be a gigantic cams. I know that without O2 car would be less efficient, but I don't care about mph. What you guys think about running a car without O2 sensors?
