Well Sonny Leonard likes Crane products too but he doesn't use them on everything he builds. The competition level stuff gets T&D or Jesel. I'm actually surprised that anyone turning the revs necessarily to run 7-8 second quarter mile times would be running a stud-mount rocker... kinda like running stainless valves on a 8000 rpm+ engine. That's just silly in my opinion. You won't see a stud rocker on my BBC Mullis or any of my race cars... they cost too much in reliability.

My Mullis dragster only has about 750 hp runnin low 8s It dosent need Jesel stuff.. i mean this isnt a 1100hp motor were talkin about.. its a mild 427 BBC, and as we both know Big Blocks dont have NEAR the revs of a Small Block motor(in most cases).. especally a 750 hp big block.. Personally ive never seen problems with the Crane Golds, but there are a few ppl with the jesel rockers we know that have no problems also but again there in the low 7s high 6s

Don't confuse 1/4 mile use with street/durability applications. My rule is don't use forged alum for durability. Also, NSA is more trouble free and may be less noisy, AFAIC.

The argument of, if it is good enuf for drag use it's good enuf for me, is flawed reasoning. Again, don't confuse a few miles in a straight line to thousands on the street. If you want to compare to race applications, compare to circle track or enduro type racing.

Where's the confusion arnie? I guess I missed it.

Again, I don't see the confusion. I also don't see that arguement being made, nor any comparisons. Maybe I missed something again... not been my day.
