Rpm's Rev Real High Before Car Kicks In

I was wondering if someone could tell me what might cause this to happen.if i put the gas pedal to the floor the rpm's rev almost in the red before the car catches and takes off.

yeah, sounds like a bad clutch for an m6.

I dont own one yet but on my current car i had the same identical problem and it turned out to be the shift linkage cable. I assume Camaros would also have this. if they do, all you have to do is adjust that cable and you're fine.

the assembly is hydraulic there is no adjustment...you probably need a clutch...
