rpm drops when turning steering wheel?

rpm drops when turning steering wheel?

Is this normal? I was sitting at idle today with my car cold and i turned my steering wheel and i noticed the rpms dropped about 100 or so, should this happen? Its not just when cold either.

ya its normal. your power steering is putting a load on the motor, and the rpms will drop

alright thanks just checking, trying to figure out every single thing that is wrong with my car, and damn the list is getting long
