Sounds

I know from where you speak, little brother. I have no answers, but my 95 Z28 does the same durn thing! I only notice it when warm, and it does not always occur. I considered replacing the bushings. By the way, my diff is NOT the culprit. Anybody out there? Say, maybe, Shoebox???

check the lower control arm bushings. its best to go back by the one rear wheel-wells at a time and start pulling/pushing up and down. you should almost be able to pin-point where the noise is coming from then. when its cold outside, you will usually hear more noise.

If it turns out not to be the suspension, try changing the rear end (pumpkin) gear oil. I had a sqeaky-squeeling sound from the back end on low speed corners and a board member suggested try replacing the rear end fluid and it worked - no more noise. If it hasn't been done on your car in it's 122k miles, it will need it anyhow.
