try some EBC brakes. they are blind drilled and slotted. They do not crack or warp like other brands. they also make great pads as well. you can see more info at www.gearheadgarageinc.com

I tried the better pad route with only a little bit of improvement. I think the LT1's came with marginal brakes from the factory...that's why the LS1 brake setup was improved. If you truely want better stopping power, change your front brake calipers/rotors for a LS1 setup, Baer Brake setup or the C5 setup. You'll need 17" rims to clear the 13 rotors if you go that route (verify they'll clear your rims first). I went with the 13" Baer setup (modeled after the C4) and greatly improved stopping power. I got my kit as part of a GP for $650.

I run 15 inch Pro Stars on the front so LS1 upgrade is not an option for me.
I went with Aimco Extreme cross drilled and slotted rotors from autozone with Performance friction brake pads and I am very satisfied with them. It was a good upgrade for me but I don,t take turns at speed or anything I just need to slow the car down in a straight line and these have worked great for that.

I have PowerSlot slotted rotors (stock size) at all four corners. I guess the best feature with them is that they never rust or get that corroded(sp) look. As far as an increase in stopping power you won't feel it until you go larger diameter rotors, and/or upgraded calipers. Some have suggested something like Baer, you can look into LS1 as well. Just note that big brake kits aren't wallet-friendly, but nothing in this sport really is, so...

If you get cross-drilled, be careful as it's been proven over and over that they lead to premature cracking and what-not. I don't have any info on the EBC units, however.

My .02 cents!
