what roller rockers should i use with a cc306 cam? 1.5 or 1.6

 

You would use the higher ratio to get more out of it. There is no reason not to, with a cam of that nature.

 

Are your springs set up to handle the extra lift? That'd be my first question.

 

Even with 1.6 rockers.....lift would be in the .570" range, I believe. Not that much of an issue but deffinately too much for old, worn out stockers.

I would use the Comp Cams Ultra Pro-Magnums in a 1.6 ratio.

And as Bersaglieri alluded to....get some new/decent springs that can handle .600" of lift.

The 306 is not the best cam choice for stock heads. There are much better choices.

 

i plan on porting the stock heads also.would it fit better than?

if not what cam would be nice with stock heads?

 

The 306 is an oldie but a goodie but isn't my favorite. I would pick a more advanced custom grind ANY day of the week when used with ported heads. Typically the two big porters AI and LE will customize a cam for their heads.

If you're sticking with stock heads I'd go with the 226/234 from AI. There's a few guys putting down 350+ cam-only and one even touching 360+ with that grind.
