Roller Rockers

I Just Bought Comp 1.6 Roller Rockers Part Number 1318-16. The Valve Covers Don't Fit On With Them. Can I Cut The Inside Of The Valve Cover To Compinsate, Or Should I Get Different Rocker Arms.

Sweet Thanks. My Motor Is Out. Would You Put It All The Way Back Together Before You Put It In The Car, Including Intake And Long Tubes Or Is It Easier To Put That Stuff On Later.

Re: Roller Rockers

To make the valve covers fit, you only need to remove the upper "webbing" that holds the bolts tubes (upper meaning the side closest to the intake manifold). Some guys have removed the tubes and webbing and replaced the bolts with studs. This would probably require some type of rubberized washer under the nut (and flat washer) to keep oil from weeping out the holes.

Re: Roller Rockers

I personally would put it in w/ just the heads on. (rockers too....as long as you prime your oil pump and get the lifters pumped up, adjust lash while you have elbow room) then put the headers on, (easy to say since I removed the a.c.) then the intake. Trying to do it from the top w/ headers on could prove to be a chore if you dont have enough hands there to move the harness, and manipulate the engine as you lower it in.

I prefer to install the intake with the motor out. Gives you the best chance to get in on right without any leaks. I would install the exhaust once the engine is in unless you're coming up from the bottom.
