I just got a set of 1.6 roller rocker arms from Crane Cams. I have a 94 Z28 and I was wondering if I needed to get a LT4 knock Module. I was thinking that the rocker arms will produce a small amount of "false knocking" and the LT4 knock module will take care of it. I was wondering if I needed to get it and I was also wondering if I needed to get anything else (I.E.computer tuning, new valve springs, ect. )
If I do need to get this knock module. Does anyone know where I can get one and how much they are?

 

i think the knock module is a good idea, but i from the research i have done new springs will be a must. i bought a hot cam kit instead of just doing the rocker arms. the knock modules can be puchased from gmpartsdirect.com for about $30 but i dont have the part number.

 

ive been running 1.6 rockers on my stock springs for quite awhile now. the lift going from 1.52 (stock) to 1.6 rockers on a stock cam isnt that much...

 

The LT4 knock module part # is 16214681. I got mine from gmpartsdirect.com. It lists on the site for $30.41, that's about the best price I found for a new one. It's easy as hell to put in, took less than 5 minutes.

 

also, if u plan on getting your car tuned anytime soon, you can have your knock sensor 'desensitized' so that it wont pick up the false knock from the rockers.
