which rockers, s/a or non s/a...
i have a 383 with stock ported heads and am looking for new rockers. i'm likely going with the crane gold rockers. my question is, and i have looked, do i need self aligning with no guideplates or do i need non aligning with guideplates? will i need new pushrods?
i have the cc306 cam with new rollers and new springs too, so i wont need those. valve seals/springs/locks were done when i had the heads ported.

Re: which rockers, s/a or non s/a...
Do a search, but it will depend on your rpms. I have a cc306 with SA and I spin upwards of 6500 without any trouble. I would not go higher from what I read though. Seeing as you have a 383 and heads the 306 will probably be fine spinning to 6kish.
I like my crane golds. They clear the valve covers without modding. They are cheap, look bling, and get the job done.

If you decide to go with non-SA, then you will need guide plates and hardened push rods. SAs don't need hardended push rods or quide plates, but they do need good adjustment and hardy springs (I assume you have the springs that go with the CC 306.
You just have to bear in mind that the only thing keeping SA RRs on the stem are the small quides on the roller itself, which is why it is important to have good adjustment and lock down in addition to correct geometry.JMHO
