Rocker Stud Question

Hey all,

Have CC Pro Mag 1.6 rockers and went with CC 4501 studs but the base threads (0.750") bottom out in my AFR 190's so they won't work. I have now ordered the CC4506's (0.668" base thread length) to eliminate the bottoming out issue.

In the meantime, I mocked up the assembly and have about 8 threads (8 rotations of the polylock) contacting the stud where it looks like I have correct geometry. This puts the locking allen waaay down in the hole and leaves about 10 threads exposed above. Is this correct?

Maybe I am not looking hard enough but I cannot find studs that are longer than 1.75" effective stud length that have a base thread of 0.668" or shorter.

You might try putting an ARP headbolt washer under the stud. Be sure to use headbolt washers that are parallel ground on the contact surfaces. It's possible to address two issues at the same time. The stud will be less likely to bottom out in the head and the locking setscrew will engage closer to the top of the polylock. Setting it up with the setscrew too far down inside the polylock is a recipe for broken locks. The setscrew should contact the top of the stud within the range of the hex portion of the polylock if at all possible.
