rocker arm help
ok i found a set of crane energizer roller rockers so i looked them up and they said they only fit first gen small blocks so i called a big time mail order company and they said that i would need a set of guide plates to make them work . so i bought both the guide plates and rockers finally got my heads all done and the valve covers wont fit between the rockers..... so i called again and the company told me that i need the narrow body rockers..
so what i would like to know is, is there any body else using these rockers and have made them fit some how?? or do i need the narrow style ?
the heads are ported stock with beehive springs crane guides plates and 3/8 stud.

Re: rocker arm help
I don't have any experience with your RR's but my Comp Pro Magnums required the webbing inside the valve cover to be cut to clear between the RR's. The webbing only needs to be removed from one side (side closest to the intake).
Re: rocker arm help
As mentioned in the post just above mine, you'll simply need to cut the webbing in your valve covers up to make them fit.
I cut mine up to fit my Comp Pro Mag 1.6 RR's.
I imagine you purchased the Crane 11746's since you mentioned they needed guide plates I imagine they are non self aligning as the 11746's are.
They should work, just need to clearance the valve covers properly. No worries, and do not replace your rockers for that ebay stuff posted above...

Re: rocker arm help
I had to modify my stock valve covers to fit my 1.6 Comp Pro Mag too. However, I didn't elect to do any cutting. I just used a set of "lineman's" pliers and flattened the webbing where it hit on the rockers, and then I used a large set of channel locks to flatten the baffle where the PCV line connects on the passenger side valve cover.
