the right exhaust
the right exhaust
i just installed my 383 lt1. i have hooker lt's and i dont know what exhaust setup to go with. i was thinking about getting a mufflex 3" y pipe with a cutout. no cats. i already have a flowmaster that i love. or a hooker y pipe with same setup as mufflex. or true duals over the passenger said rearend. i dont want to use glasspacks or bullets. i want a deep throaty sound. i dont want it WAY too loud because neighbors will complain. i dont know if there is much of a performance difference between the mufflex and hooker. my car is lowered so clearance might be a problem but im not too worried about that. what would you guys recommend?
I also got a 383 thats lowered with no cats and a flowmaster catback system. My car is also lowered and is very loud. I'm looking at quieting it down a bit. I'm probably gonna just dump the flowmaster and go with a Magnaflow. I really have no clue. But without catz your car is gonna be loud no matter what. True duals have clearance issues without lowering it.
Please let me know what you go with and how it works.

i just got a Hooker Aerochamber muffler (only, not catback) on mine and it sounds grreat
The hooker has rumble and TONE, has a very nicely tuned growl to it, and the muffler is straight too. Sounds good going up and coming down the rpms, especially 4000rpm+
btw, rpm's climb smoother/quicker with muffler swap.
Hooker gets my vote if you're looking not to wake the neighbors but still scare off stoplight wanabes.
