Reverse Flow

I'm just wondering how the head design and block design are different than those of a regular SBC. What are the pros and cons of having reverse coolant flow?

Water passages are just a different design than standard Gen I SBCs. The only cons I can think of is you cant use 18* or 15* SBC heads without it getting very expensive converting to work with the LT1/4 Gen II block. Plus we need the special thermostat as well. On the up side we can run high compression on pump gas, upwards of 12:1. I'm not sure how high the compression can get on pump gas but someone here does.
