Question Restore in a can? Anyone use it?

I've used this stuff in my Honda a few yrs back and noticed a increase in mileage and more peppy engine. Would anyone use this in their LT1 though is the question better yet their stroker? Just curious as to mine is a little down on compression just from normal wear and tear. A can was given to me so I was considering it but I wanted some honest opinions from you guys 1st esp Patman if you out there...being the oil guru analysist.
I know it's got this stuff call CSL in it whatever that is but that's all it says on the can. Whadaya think?

Thanks for any opinions.

I used it on my old 4.3 TBI S10. It made a difference in power. I also used a can every oil change for about 15k miles too. Didn't do any harm. Other than auto-rx (ok I guess Rislone too) and those combustion cleaners such as seafoam, it's about the only other additive that actually works.

Thanks. I'm surprised no one else has a opinion on this. I may through it in the for gp and see what happens.

Thanks again for your response.

well most of us F-body guys don't need that stuff because we go through cam swaps every 3-5 months so we clean our intakes out & heads out ourselves, even pistons mechanically

Cool

Well I'm gonna throw it in and see what happens. Been sitting 5 mos (winter storage) now what the hell. Oil has been swapped out anyways so I'm sure it'll be fine. B-12 Chemtool in the tank give that stale fuel some life and off I go.

Maybe I'll post if I see any difference. May even do a compression test before and after and post the results.

I used some of it a little while ago and didn't notice any mileage/performance differences. I didn't do a before/after compression check either, so I'm not sure about the effects on compression.

no, seafoam is a cleaner. it will clean anything and everything, works real well too, I'm a seafoamaholic.

Restore has additives that will help the rings seal and give you better compression and restore lost hp/mileage/etc. It's basically a rebuild in a can, but will only go so far..

You can go to any NAPA parts store and they should have all the sea foam products on the shelves. Sea foam, tranny cleaner, deep creap, bugs be gone, etc etc.

The engine didn't last long. There was a noticeable difference in throttle response and the engine ran a little warmer from it. I think it actually made my bearings wear quicker though. Can't explain it but I believe it. Rebuildin now and won't use it on a stroker again for sure of that.

thanks for the update. I just put the lt4 conversion on my truck and am pushing close to 11:1 compression. was wondering if it would help or hurt. had head gasket/low compression issues before the swap, was thinking about throwing it in to try and clear up the bottom end.

I used it before also and am pretty sure it caused a hyd lifter to go solid and snap in half.. reckon I'll just save up and rebuild.
