Resonator in air elbow

I saw that the 1le air elbows take off the resonator tube. I was wondering if there is any point in blocking this thing off or taking it off completely. Would it help in anyway or alter the sound of the intake? It seems like the resonator would create turbulance the way it is set up.

Has anyone tried this?

Removing the "donkey dong" increases the intake sound, and decreases intake air turbulance. Gains are minimal though. But I did mine since I can stand that fuggin tube always being in the way.

With the combination of the LPE Supertube and 1LE elbow my intake now sounds similar to a Hoover upright It sounds pretty good.

I could not tell any kind of difference (noise or otherwise) when going to the 1LE from the non 1LE elbow.

Pert Plus bottle tops seem to work for some. But whatever you do make sure its secure so that nothing goes into your throttle body. Hell a new 1LE runs under $60 and you can sell your stocker elbow for $25-30.
