Replacing window motor??

First off how easy is it to do so and about how long would it take? I know that the motor is held in with three rivits which can make it a pain. Also, how much would someone charge to put on in if I brought the motor. If mechanics charge too much to do it then I can just do it myself, I am just feeling lazy right now.

Oh man, you can do it yourself - you don't have to pay anyone.

The whole job should take 2-3 hours.

To bad u dont live in tampa. I do window motors on the side for 35 bucks. 1st timers it'll take 2-3 hours. AFter you've done a few it's about an hour. Most people dont like even trying because u cant see anything until u start drilling. Dealer will charge u 300 dollars in labor and shops will vary.

Look up "shoebox" and go to his website.. it shows u how to do it.

It's pretty easy, I've done it twice now.

If you are curious on what it looks like I took some pictures the last time that you can view.

Basically you drill the riviets out holding the original one in then the new motor somes with screws and nuts to secure it. You may have to drill a hole or two for the new mounting locations. The door is very easy to drill. Just use patience with pulling on the door panels and wiring. Let me know if you need any help.

Thanks guys, I know I could handle it, I just did a cam swap so I know I am capable, I am just feeling lazy. If they really charge that much I will definitely do it myself. Looks like I guess I will give it a try.

Thanks again guys

Pretty easy compared to a cam swap.
