The weather striping you can get from SLP pretty much sucks. I had the same problem when I got my SLP Ram Air HO hood. I just ended up getting some 3 inch window AC weather striping from a home improvement store. Way cheaper and works better.

Yep, I went to Lowes and found the ac window unit foam weather stripping and immediately thought of it.
I bought some earlier today.
Its 1 1/4" wide and tall so it will seal pretty good, except for the fact its foam.

Won't air pass through it?

It doesn't on mine. I tried to find something rubberized for a long time and I just couldn't find anything thick enough. I've been using the AC foam for about four years now. My box edges are a little wider than the one on the SS that is why I got mine in the 3". I also put it all the way around the box so the all the air goes in the box. Yours just had it on three side from the factory right?

You'll need to get some good glue to hold it on. Wish I could remember what I used.

That may work. I got the glue from a friend of mine, it was a thick yellow glue. He called it "gorilla snot", not sure what it's really called.

I installed the weatherstripping earlier. The two sided tape worked pretty good. I seal the box all the way around this time.

Just curious. How can you put it all the way around without impeding the flow?

The air flow is coming from the hood scoop, not the inside of the engine bay. The same way it is on a Factory WS6 LT1 car. It also has a completely sealed air box.
