Replacing Pass. Side O2...How?

So how do you do this? I can see it from the top, so i am thinking maybe some extensions? From the bottom it looks just as bad. ANyone ever replace it without pulling the y pipe?

If i pull the y pipe should i get some more bolts for it since they might snap or what? I have never pulled off anything that siezed up before. Basically what should i prepare for so i dont get an exhaust leak

i would replace the bolts if you have to pull your y-pipe down, but go to the autoparts store and get the 7/8 O2 sensor socket has a long slit in it made to go around the wires and then its easy so you might not have to pull the exust down.

That tool is a POS...broke on me. Had to take it to the shop so they could get it off.

Seemed like it. It wasnt even the factory one, the previous owner replaced it. He swears he used anti-seize on everything. I got off the driver side with NO problems, but that one was really in there. Who knows, thats why its american

Get the O2 socket and I ended up with my knee's on the top of my engine bay,so that I could reach down and get it out. Spray some WD40 on it and let it sit for a few minutes and it'll come off.

I pulled my starter and that freed up enough room to get it off without removing the y-pipe. Mine was stuck in there pretty good too had to heat it up many times.

Ha, I'm doing my headers & I had to take my y-pipe out finally and put the stupid stock manifold in a vise. What I did was vise down the 02 nut (didnt wanna do) and then turn the manifold with force. lol, I have yet to see my 02 sensor come off. So if theres a way to take it off without busting out a powertools and y-pipe removal...with over 100k 02...I wanna know!!

I did notice that you have to grind down a wrench tho, like everyone says...It seems like this problem makes me think GM did this on purpose to **** us off like the other hard to do things on this car. Especially that rear passenger header bolt..I hade to lay over my car with every lamp, light, hand and human for me to get that blinded thing off.

I used my 3/8 socket wrench and O2 socket, put it over the sensor and found some old pipe laying around (about 2 ft). Then put it over the wrench and beat the shlt out of it with a hammer and it broke the O2 sensor loose and then came right off.
