replaced waterpump, car wont run

about a week ago my waterpump went it was spraying coolant out of the weeping hole on the waterpump. the car ran i noticed it pulling into my driveway so i shut it off and left it. i bought a new waterpump and did the install, and now the car just cranks over and wont start. anybody have any ideas what is wrong? could it be the opti?

Check the two connections on the coil. One is the coil wire itself to the opti, and the other is the control harness to the PCM...make sure both are seated securely.

That sound is the fuel pump. It seems odd that it would just go out like that but check the fuel pressure.

maybe it is the opti, i'll tell you one thing, if it is im gettin the delteq, no way im taking that waterpump off again and delteq is way worth the cost. plus i can knock off plugs and wires on the to do list. im gunna bring it to a mecanic whose goin to check for spark and fuel pressure so we'll se what happens

Re: replaced waterpump, car wont run

Pull a plug and ground it while someone cranks the car to check for a spark. Are you sure you plugged the opti back in??? I know it sounds stupid, but stranger things have happened.

Hopefully, the opti was not pulled when the water pump was replaced. That seems kinda like a waste of time to me.... Could be the opticrap...

Re: replaced waterpump, car wont run

well i think i finally found the problem. took the opti off, found that a few metal terminals snapped off where the optical eye plugs in on the opti. bad way to spend a couple hundred bucks, hope it solves the problem. thanks for the posts, gettin the part tomm tell you if i get it up and running.
