Replace just the springs or new heads?

If I put brand new stock heads on the car would I see much of an improvement over just replacing the stock springs with lt4 springs? What wears out or would cause performance issues as the car reachs higher mileage? I have 1.6 GMPP rockers ready to go in also. The car has 107K+ miles and its all original. The shop quoted me $200 labor to install the new springs and 1.6 rockers. Is this a good price? Got more money than time right now.

You won't gain anything by replacing heads. Replacing stock springs recommended in any case, but especially if you are going with a higher ratio rocker. JMHO

200 for springs and rockers: when you consider that avg. labor costs are around 75/ hour, I'd say it is pretty fair price to install springs at correct height, adjust rockers correctly, etc. Maybe you can talk them into changing the plugs while they are in the neighborhood----then you really have a deal. What should be replaced while I do it? I see there are several things around the spring themselves like locks and such. Who sells them for the best price? If it can be used with the new lt4 springs and won't wear out I would rather not worry about it.

it prolly wouldn't be a bad idea to change the valve seals while you were doing it.

def DO NOT buy new stock heads, that wouldn't be a waste of hundreds of dollars... springs, rockers, valve seals and you should be set, might need locks and retainers depending on what springs you go with

I know the LT4 springs are very popular and cheap so that will be my choice. What would need to be changed to use them? I will get new valve seals and locks but is anything else needed for these?
