Unhappy Repairing "Y" Pipe/Best Way

Hello, While driving to work, somehow i missed seeing a small metal object in the road, i straddled it,but when i did a terrible noise followed, my exhaust note changed--later when i got home, i saw a 2 1/2 inch dent with a inch or so hole in my "Y" pipe just about even on the passenger side in the front. Is there a putty i can use or exhaust wrap that will work or am i destined to get it cut out at a muffler shop. I got Mac headers with the matching Mac "Y" pipe. Thanks for the help Dwayne

Take it to a muffler shop and have them splice in a new piece of tubing to replace the damaged part.
