Repairing the LT1 intake leak, some questions.

I have to fix "The intake leak" on my LT1. I have the factory manuals and they say to relieve the fuel pressure by connecting a fuel pressure guage and then opening a valve.

Where is this? Or is there another way to do this.

I am going to dimple the block and hopefully by having removed the EGR stuff I will not have this troble anymore.

Any other hints I need to know about?

Just unscrew the gas cap, then on the back of the intake manifold there is this thing that looks like what you would use to fill your tires. Just unscrew the cap and just press your fingernail in there like you were deflating a tire.

Pack rags and towels around the Schrader valve if you're going to use the fingernail method. Fuel will come out of the lines, alot of fuel. Most aftermarket fuel pressure gauges have a valve and clear tubing to safely depressurize the rails and lines.

Thanks for the quick replies!

I am almost ready to pull it off. All I need is the pressure guage, off to AutoZone I go. I hope they have one.
