Yeah, you can do that, but I one reason that lots of people get rid of their traction is because they dont want that ugly TCS box in their engine bay. It takes up alot of space and i just plain ugly. I have heard that you can easily remove it, but you will lose your ABS as a result. Has anyone figured out how to remove it without losing ABS???

Thats the main reason I want it gone. I hate that bulky looking box sitting on top of my valve cover. I want it gone.

I removed it:

First, go on e-bay, and find yourself a 3-channel EBCM.

Then, get a throttle cable [and cruise control, if applicable] for a non-traction control car.

You will have to remove your driver's seat and take off your lower dash panels. If you look straight up from where your brake pedal is you'll see the EBCM unit. Yeah, it's really far in there. It will take a little bit of work to grease it out.

Unhook the cables and swap in the 3-channel unit. You will notice that one of the cables is left hanging because the 3-channel unit doesn't have a connector for it. That's ok, leave it alone.

Now swap the throttle cable.

When you start your car, you will have ABS and no traction control.

I have not yet "tested" ABS. I don't know what happens with the rear proportioning valve not being controlled by anything, but I have not yet had any problems with my car.

Let me know how it works out for ya.

I have traction control, but I can just push the button to turn it off.
