Removing intake manifold

What do you do w/ the wire harness(s) on both sides and where it goes over the top of the intake in the back. Online I read a tut which said to remove the harness(s) is this really necessary, can they just be pushed out of the way? Should I remove them anyways since I am going head gaskets?

Also whats the best method to jar the intake free once all bolts are out.

Since you're doing the heads, too, I would say that you should unplug everything you can on the driver's side of the engine and move it over and out of the way. There's no reason you should try to fight that the whole time.

I've done a cam swap with the motor in the car and that was a PITA that I'll never attempt again I wouldn't even dream of trying to swap heads. It's too easy to pull the K-member out.

bump, to disconnect the whole thing means taking apart all the plastic covering/electrical tape holding it together sounds like a major pita.

I just disconnected the harness from all the injectors etc, and then pulled the whole thing up and stuck it under the windshield wipers. I had no problem pulling the heads with it like that. And I just grabbed my intake from the TB openings and kinda yanked on it. Not to bad.
