Removing Intake and Fuel Lines
Removing Intake and Fuel Lines
Hey guys. Is there a special tool needed to remove the fuel lines from the intake manifold on an Lt1? I think I have a bad lifter and maybe a little bito of an intake leak,so I need to pull the intake. Thanks.
You just need a fuel line disconnect kit. They are a bunch of little plastic disks you can get from autozone, etc.
You could also just leave the lines attached to the rail and just move the rail out of the way with the lines attached.

When you remove the fuel rails the injectors will come out with them, I've boughten the disconnect tool before and wasn't even able to get the POS to work. So I just set the rails off to the side with the lines still connected.

As long as you can get to all the intake manifold bolts, you can leave the fuel rail on the intake and pull as a unit. Of course, this is if you disconnect the fuel lines with the tool. You will need a 5/16" and 3/8" disconnect tool. They're relatively cheap.
