Removing A.I.R. pipe intact?

If you want to remove your A/C and heat on the other hand this will be a good time to do it if you want to take out the compressor. All that stuff was built to go together but not come apart. Like I say GM says cut it. You know If GM wont attempt to try to get the compressor out its very hard.

I went at it from the underside of the car in front of the k-member with a shallow socket, a universal joint and an extension...
I got the bolt out, got the pipe out of there, then put the bolt back in.
If you cut the tube at the bottom of the u bend below the crank, then cut it on the passenger side (from the top) where it bends toward the block (cut it as close to the bottom of that bend as you can), you can wiggle and pull the tube out the bottom of the car once the bolt in the block is out. I made an extra cut that I didn't have to in hopes of pulling the tube out the top, but it was easier to work it out the bottom.

That still leaves the problem of the bolt. How did you get at yours?
