Recap engine stuff.
Hey All,
Thank you all for all your help in my search for an upgrade kit for my LT1
This is what I ended up with (all summit numbers)
CCA-07-305-8 (Cam)
CCA-4760 (Cam Bushing Kit which one do I use 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8)
SES-3-60-08-005 (Oil pump)
SLP-260-1650 (gasket kit)
SUM-G6601 (Double Roller)
SUM-G6906 (These rockers- I got all the benefit of a 1.6 full roller alum….but they are not self aligning SO how do I install them – I called summit and they do not have guide plates for them… Anyone knows how to do this? Also they are not narrow bodied ( those are about 100 bucks more) anyone know why this is a problem with stock valve covers- and what is a good set of replacements to get rid of this problem or how to modify the stock valve covers to make it work – any input is greatly appreciated on this topic)
So that’s the top of the motor – the downstairs of the motor has 144 k on it – has great compression and great oil pressure- should I leave it alone? Or spend ANOTHER grand to get that all setup… please keep in mind this is not a race car. Thanks once again all. IF it is recommended to fix the downstairs would it be beneficial to go to a 383 stoker setup – and would all the stuff I bought for the top-end be ok with it ( the cam).
Thanks once again for all your help and your continued assistance!
