Rebuilt LT1 took a s&*$t

I had my LT1 built a long time ago from my crashed z28 and put it in my K5. I have had a number of other cars to drive so I never really need my K5. The motor has only about 50 miles on it and the truck sits about 99% of the time. Yesterday I decided to charge the battery and put some premium fuel in it and as I was comming up a hill it started to backfire like a MF. At one point it was running on like 2 cylinders?!! It died a couple of times and when I tried starting it up it started sounding like a garbage disposal. I nursed it up the rest of the way up the hill at low RPM and it made it, (sounded somewhat normal) then it died. I had to push the beast the rest of the way into my driveway. I tried staring it twice and it made the worst fu$#@&Y*( noise I've ever heard. Metal on metal clanking. Did the timing chain snap or something? The only things I've done to the motor are removal of EGR, air pump, and headers, walbro HP fuel pump. Other than that it's stock rebuilt parts. Did my timing chain snap? That's the only thing I can think of. Is it my fault or did the bastard that built my motor do a crapy job?

Could be a number of things. I've seen rod bolts let go when factory ones are reused, but that is just one of a million possibilities. Tear it down and let us know what you find!
