Rebuilt Engine "Break In"
I have heard this before on another forum (Geo Metro Forums) but I don't understand why people are bashing Fram filters. I have been running them on my cars since I was 16 years old (32 now). That includes 1 NA 300ZX, 1 Twin Turbo 300ZX, various 4 bangers, my Cobra, & on my freshly rebuilt LT1 in my 1992 Corvette a few years back. I have never had a problem with any of them on my cars.
Not being a smart *** but what is the reason you don't like them. No one ever seems to give one.

New rings have to be worn in (seated) to new cylinder walls to seal properly.
I'd be concerned about breaking in an engine that is running rich. There's the chance of washing down the cylinders and not allowing the rings to seat(Total Seal Quick Seat is our friend). Also new valve springs need to be "broken in".
No new valves "I dont think" (short story). Thanks for the info what you said is kinda what I was thinking.

my motor is STILL coming along, should I break it in untuned? Because if not I will have to break it in on the dyno?
