Re: rebuildage

Depends on what you want done, stock rebuild or stroker? Lots of options open for what you want to do with.

Re: rebuildage

A stock rebuild runs around $1000 - $1200 around here for a shortblock.

$120 to turn crank .010
$300 for freeze plug install, bore, align, hone, magnaflux and check block.
$300 for assembly.
$300 for balancing the assembly.

Plus what ever it costs to recondition your stock pistons and rods and new ring sizes etc.

I purchased all my parts and just paid labor charges and the block work. So thats about all I can help you as far as prices go.

Re: rebuildage

Got oil pressure at idle? Run a compression check too-you may not need a rebuild for a long time.

Re: rebuildage

I bought mine with 150k and it ran real strong right before i tore it down. The only reason i decided to rebuild it was that I had pretty high goals for the car down the road and the oil pan was leaking and I just decided to pull the motor and get it done with.

Even though i drive a Z28. i would go with the T/A. Its got lower miles, Full exhaust already done, PLUS ITS A 6spd< cant turn down that.
