The car will be road racing as said above, and I seriously doubt the stock oiling system is up to snuff.

I also have to worry about emmisions as well with this engine, and a shortblock is more expensive than me getting all the machine work done and the rebuild kit including forged pistons and ARP fasteners, so...

Thanks ppl.

OK, well I've decided to bite the bullet, its only gonna cost about $2500 more for another 200+hp, stroke and blow it, I mean... ummm. DAMMIT! Well you know what I mean.

Ported Heads,intake, valve work, etc.
Scat Crankshaft and Rods (383)
Vortech base supercharger... I would like to run about 10PSI on a final 9:1-9.3:1 compression. Anybody have any recommendations for the pistons... also what type of fuel pump would I need as well as the injectors for about 520-540rwhp?

So... my questions are.

Pistons?
Fuel Pump?
Fuel Pressure Regulator?
Fuel Injectors?
Holley 58mm throttle body?

Thanks again.

Scat crank SHOULD be ok, but on a blown motor- i'm not taking my chances
get an ATI
Lower your compression to 8:1 if you want to daily drive it (ps a blown daily driver is asking for it to begin with)

you really should consult your engine buillder- whoever it may be
just make sure they are very familiar with an LT1
it is VERY different from a TPI, Gen I small block and could cause some problems.
thats why i always reccomend someone like combo motorsports

shoot me an IM if u need more help

ps
hope you have a TH400 in the backyard laying around with a 12bolt or ford 9''

dont forget things like converter, driveshaft, opti, water pump, labor ect

How would that be a problem, I see guys here @ Red Line with blown LT1's all the time, no problems. One guy has a Paxton (woo) on his stock short block for over 40,000 miles, no problems.

9:1 and 10psi isn't all that much, and since the boost doens't really kick in till the upper rpm ranges, its not like it will be seeing it all the time. However, yeah I need to get a 12 bolt that's for damn sure, and its going in an M6 car, I would like to get a McLeod, but thats $$$ that I don't have to spend on a clutch, is there somebody else that makes a good clutch? I dunno, maybe take tilton race system and convert it

I just talked to Scat, they said they are good for 600hp no problem... emphasis on "said", I told him what I was running and he said there wouldn't be that great of a need to move up to a billet peice.

I know! I'll just build up a gen 1 block and swap it in and out when smog time comes!!! Big cam, dual exhaust, 500+hp, long tubes, no opti, etc. etc. in California.... eheh, just gotta adapt the intake manifold so it looks "stock" so when they ask to look under the hood they don't notice anything. Hell that's a good idea, I got a big garage.

(I DIDN'T SAY ANY OF THIS)
