Thats a tuff call.
I personally would rebuild cause thats alot of work to do again in a short time.
I myself am waiting to do my heads and cam until I can pull the motor and rebuild it.
Its your car though, if you think it runs strong and can handle it then go for it.

From what I have read in past threads, unless your motor took a crap, don't mess with a rebuild. Go ahead and put in the new cam.

We've also recently heard a lot of talk lately about people who have done heads/cam packages but kept the bottom end alone, and soon after needed to get that done too. It might be worth it to just do it all at once instead of having to tear it down twice.

Do the rebuild. If you're putting a cam in then I'm sure you don't drive like a granny. 110K on hard miles deserves a rebuild. I've got about 125K right now and the car runs great, but I try not to get on it very often. I'll be rebuilding around 130K.

I had 219,000 before rebuilding. You will spend about 1,500.00 just to have someone pull and re-install the engine from the bottom.

Anyone that spends $1500 on just an engine removal and reinstallation is a dipsh@t. You could buy all the tools yourself and do it for one-fourth that price. Hell, you can get a cherry picker for about $200, which is the biggest expense. If you wanted to rebuild, (which is undoubtably the smartest move for you considering your mileage and the fact that your opening the engine up anyway to install a cam) just pull the motor yourself and take it somewhere for the rebuild. You can easily pull the motor in a weekend. I've pulled it in a day with the help of a friend, and we were taking our time. If you've ever turned a wrench before then you'll have no trouble at all. It just takes time and patience.

383Z4ME, I don't doubt that you waited until 219K for a rebuild because these engines are tough and last a long time. But if I were installing new major engine parts then it would be worth the effort to go ahead and do a rebuild. That way you wouldn't have to worry about any problems for a long time.

hot936spd, do the rebuild. You won't regret it.
