Rebuild

I have a few ?'s about the rebuild I am planning for my camaro. It's a 95 lt-1. When I bought the car it had a knock, I thought it might be a rocker arm hitting the valve cover. It wasn't so I am pulling my motor this weekend to see whats going on. Since the motor will be out I am going to do some stuff to it. I plan on boring the block 30 over, with the summit racing forged rebuild kit. I also want to do some head work, lt's, full valve train (cam, roller lifters, roller rockers, and the springs/retainers. I want true duals with spintechs, 52mm tb, cai, emissions stuff gone, and a new clutch that can hold the power. I will put a 150 shot of nitrous on too.

This is where my problem comes in. I neen some recomidations on a clutch and cam. Right now I want a 305 and a spec stage 3 clutch. I was wondering if a 306 would be better because it looks like alot of people are using that. I also want to know if that is a good clutch for this combo or what would be better. If you have any ?'s ask.

Thanks for the help

My vote goes for 306 if you're getting head work and aren't worried about emissions.

yea, i think one reason a lot of people run the 306 is because of its crazy exhaust duration
aren't the numbers like 230/244 or something like that?
and that cam probably spins higher than the 305 too, i know it usually goes to 6800 or somewhere near there
couple that with a 114 lsa (for your n20) and since you don't have to worry about emissions (florida), i think that'd be a nice setup for ya
course, you may have to do some stuff to the bottom end to support it under those high revs

What would you recommed for the bottom end. Iv'e heard alot about the Scat 9000 crank. I want to build a 383 but $ isn't there. Should I do the rods too, will the summit rebuild kit pistons work fine?

cc306 or gm847 all the way . I don't know if its just me, but in a last month there were many nicely modded motors for sale on borad. If I were you I would just get a built barely used motor for 60% of the price and save time and money

but then he may not get the experience and fun of rebuilding an engine

for the cranks, i'm not sure, i haven't looked into any cranks or anything. just go forged and you'll be good
o, and the pushrods are hardened pushrods from the factory, and i've heard they do pretty good. (believe it was 96 they changed them)
