reasonably priced full LT1 gasket set ?
I'm looking for a reasonably priced NAME BRAND (full gasket set for my LT1 383 build.
So far I have found sets for $365.00, $298.00, and $201.00.
I DO NOT find those prices even CLOSE to reasonable, LT1 or not.
The shop that sold me my rotating assembly supposedly can no longer get this set, therefore they refunded me a measley $100.00 to find my own gasket set...what a freakin' JOKE !
The shop that sold/balanced my rotating assembly jerked me around for over a month....I originally wanted a forged 355 assembly and after several excuses about back ordered pistons, cranks, unavailable pistons, etc.....for some reason the OWNER of the shop that sold me the package took 3 weeks to tell me they could not do the package I wanted for an internally balanced LT1....I wound up with a 383 instead.....PM me and I'll tell you who to avoid........the package was supposed to ship out in less than a week. It took me over a month to get 90% of my parts & I was almost ready to give up & call my attorney.
I'll (nor will 3+ of my buddies with LT1's ready to build) NEVER use those liars again.

Re: reasonably priced full LT1 gasket set ?
That seems RIDICULOUSLY high......an LT1 is only a freakin' 350 chevy with a FEW added special gaskets.....one can get a NAME BRAND SBC 350 gasket set for under $60.00 easy. Can I use one of those and add the special pan & front gaskets ?

Re: reasonably priced full LT1 gasket set ?
head gaskets are $33x2 Intakes are $17x2 Oil pan $28 water pump and timing cover kit was $15 or so rear seal not cheap, egr gaskets a few bucks, header gaskets $30-$40 or so for good ones, those washers at the back of the heads expensive at the dealer, valve cover gaskets $17 or so
It all adds up rather quick, but modern gaskets are damn good compared to what you got for $28 for a cardboard & cork set with plain metal shim head gaskets in the old days. Heck, I just spent $140 just for a pair of head gaskets and $40 for header gaskets and $10 for some can of Right stuff and you know MY LT1 DOESN"T LEAK AT ALL !!!!!

I'd spend the extra couple bucks and get all GM gaskets.
