Question Rear speaker problems

Ok so I found out my rear speaker wasn't working tonight. I don't know what is wrong with it, but when I turn it on loud all I can hear is VERY soft music and a fuzzy sound. But since it's in there and not doing anything, I want to disconnect the rear speaker system entirely. But I can't figure out how to disconnect the wiring from the RSS....any help??

First thing, Do you have an aftermarket head unit? If so check the wiring from the stereo to the herness, That sounds like the problem. I think there is a clip holding the speaker wires together probably about 3-6 inches from the speaker.

Hope this helps a little if im right.

Thnx man. I can't figure out how to get that wiring harness off! It's like a maze or somethin. I wonder if you're even supposed to be able to disconnect the rear speaker entirely(?) I'll just keep messin with it for now until I figure out how to attach the thing...

No more probs with the stereo being connected...I just yanked on the orange harness and then the wires were easy to separate. Now I just need to get a new speaker system....yeah right$$$$$$

I pulled the entire Bose crap out of my 94 and installed a custom stereo. I originally went with front and rear speakers with a 5 channel amp, I hated it, the rear speaker location is horrible it totally screwed up my soundstage so I yanked the rears and went with a Soundstream Angina and bridged the 4 channel to run my fronts and the mono sub amp to run my 10W3 in the stealthbox. Now it sounds excellent.
So I guess what I am trying to say is, leave the rear speakers out and I think you will be happy.
