I have a 92Z with the five spoke 97 rims. (No salad shooters for me)

Anyways went to get two new tires for the rear today. I tried rotating them months ago could not get the fronts on the back so I just wore the backs out. Tire shop kind of kidded me today when I told them they would have to re mount the fronts on the back as they did not believe me. Any ways why is this the case?? Back rims only on the back/front only on the front??

Oh by the way bought two Kumhos (Esctas or something like that) 245/50/16?? Any good got 2 for $163 installed also with the extra two mounts and dismounts for the stupid rims?????

Did you have diffrent size tires and/or wheels on the rear?? Thats the only reason i can see that they would have to do that. Ive roatated f-body wheels before with no problem.

 

I don't quite understand that since the 97 wheels are the same for all 4. I know that the 3rd gen wheels are different front and back and that is why you cannot rotate them. But if you are using the 4th gen wheels that are the same all around, why could you not rotate them? I must be missing something. Have the 4th gen wheels been modified?

 

Newer style wheels have a diff.inner diameter.You will have to have the inside of the wheels turned on a lathe.
