If it's leaking up by the driveshaft, then it's your pinion seal leaking. This could be caused from the seal being bad or possibly a bearing going out. Is there any kind of noise coming from the rearend? Any kind of a whine or anything? If so, then you have a bearing going out, if not then you might get away with just replacing the seal.

Yep the pinion seal, and I'm pretty sure you can do that w/out taking the whole stupid *** rearend apart, just drop the drive shaft.
