Rear end experts, need suggestions really badly!

I'm wondering, I'm never planning on going with Slicks but might try out Drag Radials, I have all the mods in the sig & I'm thinking I'm putting out about 370+RWHP, I'm aming for 430rwhp or so which should be easily possible, now should I spend the money & put 4.10 gears in my rear end? I'm wondering will it hold up? I thought about a 12 bolt but its heavier & I don't have the money at the moment, I also need a clutch considering I just fried my brand new GM clutch, a few runs & it was gone

Point is, what can be done to our rear ends to make them hold up to this kind of HP & not break down? I have 2 rear ends, at the moment I have 2.73's but I have a 3.42 rear end sitting here which will be getting the 4.10's if I go that route, will the rear end hold up just fine with this power & say Drag radials or will it be a ticking time bomb?

Basicly I just blew my clutch so I don't have much faithe in stock stuff anymore, I mean this clutch was new & it just gave out on street tires, so I'm worried about the stock rear end with 4.10 gears, any suggestions or any experiences with 4.10 gears in a stock rear end & 400RWHP + guys that had luck would be appriciated, or guys who had theirs blow up, let me know if its worth doing all this to a stock rear end, thanx guys

At that kind of power, if you manage to dead hook on a set of DR's with an M6, your rear is probably going to do a good impression of a hand grenade. Honestly, you can upgrade all day on the 10 bolt, but it's just not that strong.

Hmm... why did yours go? I just want to know for sure, cuz if so than I'll skip this season & save up for the 12 bolt

I'd say if you want to run the stock rear and sticky DRs stick with the 2.73s and maybe if you're feeling lucky the 3.42s. 4.10s would definately be pushing it for strength. Best solution of course is the 12 bolt with 4.10s and ET streets.

I guess, except my clutch doesn't like the 2.73's & neither does my cam

My stock rear has lasted with 3.73,s and a TA rear end girdle but I only put down about 280 rwhp and I only ran Potenza RE730 street tires. I also have an A4. With your HP and a 6 speed you better just save up for that rear end.

2.73's in an M6? Did you convert an auto? I thought all M6's only came with 3.42's?

Sell both 10 bolts to help pay for the 12 bolt. You'll need it. If you replace your clutch with anything stronger than stock, then add DR's and take it to the track it's gonna blow and cost you lots more in the end. I was able to sell my 10 bolt to help pay for the 12 bolt. Don't wait till after it blows, and especially don't spend more $$$ to put in 4.10's.
