If you buy one with girdle studs in it, they preload the berrings in the rear end which help with rigidity. They are a good thing to have if you plan on keeping street tires on it. But with sticky tires you can't get around needing a 12bolt.

TA cover is a good investment in my opinion.
True if your gonna run a slick or ET streets then you might want to invest in a stronger rear but if all your gonna run is a BFG or Nitto then you should be all right.
Automatic cars will not eat rear ends like a 6 speed will.

they are a waste IMO. cheapest thing u can do to make your rearend stronger is to weld the axle tubes. that is all i have done to mine and it is holding up fine on ET steets

Just remember when you weld the tubes to do it in sections as not to warp the tubes. On my Dana we did 1" at a time then the opposite side and kept going around till we had a full bead.

The tube axle tube that goes into the housing. Right now it's only pressed fit. welding will make it a little stronger and help prevent from flexing.
