i have a 97 camaro. i got a slight problem with the rear deck/ hatch. when i push the yellow button under teh dash a spinning noise occurs at the rear latch. when i push my remote truck release button the same noise happens. has anyone had this problem, if so is it easy to fix, or am i looking at a new release mech???

It sounds to me like something stripped out in the actuator. You'll probably have to replace it, but expose it first and observe it's operation.
