Rear brake shim install?

Has anyone installed the rear brake shim (available from GM) used to stop sqealing on hard turns? I have the shim now, but I'm not sure exactly where it goes. It's about 3 inches square, about 2.5 inch large center hole, and 4 bolt holes on the outside. Any tips are appreciated. Thanks.

It goes between the axle housing and the caliper bracket. The axle has to be removed or you could possibly cut it in half and slide the pieces in after removing the bolts to the caliper bracket.
