Really tight accessory belt?

I just installed a set of ASP underdrive pulleys. I got a shorter belt to go with them, but it is REALLY short. I had to pull the tensioner all the way down and then I struggled to get the belt on. Now the tensioner only has about 1/2 inch of play in it, and the belt is pretty tight.

Is that OK, or should I get a slightly looser belt?

My 2-pully March system came with the correct sized belt. I suggest you contact the vendor and ask them which belt goes with that UD. JMHO

so THATS why the march system was more expensive. It came with the belt!

ASP included instructions that included 3 different belt sizes. I chose the middle size.

I mis spoke: I bought the belt separately when I was told that I needed a particular belt. So the cost quoted for the March is most likelly without the belt.

The tensioner has some markings on it that indicate the belt range for correct operation.

Why did you choose the middle belt? Was it the one that matched up with the set you bought, or did you just guess?

I'll look for those markings to make sure I'm in limits. Thanks

The ASP instructions said:

For ASP part #1xxxx, buy belt part #1xxxx
For ASP part #2xxxx, buy belt part #2xxxx
For ASP part #3xxxx, buy belt part #3xxxx

The ASP box didnt' include a part # for my particular pulleys anywhere on the set, so I guessed and bought the middle belt. It's a really tight fit, but it fits. Now that I know there are markings on the tensioner, I'll check it to see if it's in limits.
